A modern iteration of the elevated cotton day dress, the Florentine midi makes a statement while achieving an effortless elegance. The embroidery vivid, framed by the square neckline, frill sleeves and flared hem, finishing just below the knee, with a cutout back detailing and single button fastening.
Featuring an array of striking daywear styles, the Florentine story highlights the magnificence of Temperleys signature embroidery artwork. Originally hand-painted with exquisite detail and shading, combining basketry weave lattice with Jacobean vine motifs and medieval manuscript-inspired calligraphic flourishes, then replicated directly in meticulous stitchwork. A fresh and nuanced take on historical ornamentation, the result is vibrant and modern, enlivened by a bold colour palette and contrasting finishings.
On the breezy cotton base, the detailed embroidery is painted by hand, then recreated in distinctive stitchwork.

Process
Temperley prints are painstakingly hand-painted in-house. Motifs are collaged onto the body then lovingly engineered into compositions that work in harmony with the garment’s panelling, ensuring the printed fabric flows flawlessly across seam joints when the garment is constructed. The process is both meticulous and spontaneous, with an outcome that is truly unique and artisanal.
Materials
Committed to creating unique and original textiles, the Temperley team designs lace and woven fabrics in-house at our atelier, which are then crafted by our trusted partners at expert mills across the globe. We utilise best quality Italian tulle, soft and sheer, perfectly structured with a flawless drape. Another staple material includes luxurious silk, woven to create a lustrous effect, with a smooth and radiant finish, perfect for eveningwear.
