Reports to: Design Director
Overall Purpose:
To create beautifully hand-crafted embroidery designs across Temperley collections from intricate embroideries and working with exclusive print artworks to jacquard CADs, the Head of Embroidery will be responsible for ensuring that commercial and creative brief is met, according to the range plan, critical path and all technical aspects from start to finish.
Overview of Role:
For each collection:
Research boards for initial ideas/design concepts at the beginning of each season
Swatching: Creation of embroidery design ideas through research, hand drawings and CADs made using digital programming.
Creating technical guides and references for designs
Keeping a reference of each design sent to factories (photocopy/ photograph)
Liaising with Product Development department as well as directly with suppliers RE delivery dates, costs etc.
Proto stage art working:
Creating intricately placed embroidery designs, engineered uniquely to each garment pattern, to define and compliment.
At this stage, designs are created using swatches produced at swatching stage, allowing us to see the commercial viability as well as aesthetic of swatches created by both the embroidery team and textile team, which allows one to refine techniques, or counter source them.
After each design is created it is photographed, photocopied and handed over to Product Development.
Seasonal reviews:
Ensure that overview boards are up to date including original swatches, strike offs and colourways, can be presented at review. Attends Proto review, keeping notes and photographing changes made to embroidery
designs to be art worked at next stage.
Following review, artwork changes are made to ensure commercial viability of garments and meet the vision of Creative Director and Design Director. Following liaison with Product Development and suppliers themselves, changes can be made to artwork to allow for best margins possible.
A full record is kept of each change to artwork and handed over to Product Development.
Attends SMS and PP reviews, in order to make any final changes garments before selling.
Resolving any technical or aesthetic issues as well as refining final price points.
VIP bespoke artworks mainline and bridal.
Coordinates the fabric swatch library within design, ensuring that swatches are filed under seasons in which they were made and used in collections.
Point of contact with swatch houses & mill and arranges meetings at research stages. Coordinates artwork library- labelling and upkeep of folders containing records of all artworks produced.
Work on ad hoc special projects
Requirements:
An ardent interest and passion for embroidery Design
With at least 5 years’ experience in a similar ’lead’ role
Intuitive creative abilities
Able to anticipate sampling issues before they arise and problem solve when they do
Affinity with brand ethos and eagerness to see the vision of the brand being realised. Team orientated as well as an ability to work individually.
Excellent technical knowledge and techniques of embroidery and textile design practice to create the best product possible. Experience in constructing engineered artworks.
Able to multi-task, delegate and juggle multiple priorities to achieve deadlines in
fast paced environment.
Excellent drawing skills
Art working own designs onto patterns is vital
Excellent photoshop skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Overview of Role:
Primarily responsible for the coordination of shipping & logistics activities across the Temperley global supply chain; providing logistics support to internal departments, ensuring adherence to shipping policy; and, maintaining administrative compliance in relation to import/export function across the supply chain.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for optimal management of International multi-channel freight & logistics. Accountable for OTIF delivery from source through end consumer.
Full operational control for both in-house & 3PL warehousing & distribution function.
Primary function of role is to provide operational account for all Logistics, Warehousing, Stock Control and Distribution & Fulfilment activities in alignment with commercial strategy.
Focus on servicing demanding multi-channel consumer base while optimising cost.
Logistics:
Management of Domestic & International Shipping & Logistics services.
Management of company-wide 3P freight & courier contracts.
Rationalisation of Modes, Routes & Rates for supply-chain & wider business.
Management of International import/export compliance.
Management of Import Duty liabilities, both in UK and international markets.
Warehouse Operations:
Responsible for in-house Warehouse operations.
Management of external Warehousing & Distribution partnerships.
Manage resource & infrastructure in support of company ambition.
Management of Return to Vendor process.
Stock:
Management of company-wide stock control & inventory reporting.
Responsible for all stock entering & exiting the business.
Responsible for ERP system updates & reporting.
Responsible for the physical security of stock & auditing.
Distribution:
Management of International distribution & fulfilment function in line with S&O critical path.
Servicing wholesale accounts, concessions, retail store network, and e-fulfilment.
Manage vendor compliance partnerships.
Support Production Teams in distribution of raw materials from supply base.
Support PR & Sales departments in distribution of Sample Ranges.
Requirements:

Responsibilities:
To assist in maintaining the company standard to maximise sales
To greet, serve and advise clients, giving the best service possible at all times while introducing additional and alternative sales
To be fully conversant with the product range including product alterations, stock availability
To maintain the highest standards of house keeping within the branch
To acquire a basic knowledge of visual merchandising
Ensuring stock levels are well maintained
To be aware of the company policy on customer complaints, returns and exchange procedures
Handling customer complaints or handing customers on to management
To be able to work on own initiative and on any specific mission or project as defined by your manager
To handle payments in all forms
To register all relevant transaction details onto the database
To be proficient at creating and updating client files, managing own client book
To book bridal appointments and fittings via phone and email
To manage bridal appointments and perform all the necessary admin post the appointment
