With a ‘50s feel, the Garda dress brings a dynamism to the neatly cut collared shirt style with sloping cap sleeves and a layered mini slip, ruched at the waist with a ribbon tie, a flowy skirt falling to an ankle-length hem.
Encompassing the essence and inspiration of the collection: the Dolce Vita energy shines through in the Garda story, imagined in fabrication, silhouette and mood. Ethereal yet vivacious, the sheer layering bringing a sense of reinvention, the cotton fil coupé features filigree motifs, redolent of Renaissance frescos.
In collaboration with a Scottish mill, housing the largest loom in the world, the fabric is true to the local textiles heritage that dates back to the 16th century.

Note the waist band is positioned above the waist and on the lower ribs. This can feel rather fitted on longer torsos. If in between sizes or in doubt, we suggest sizing up.
Process
Temperley prints are painstakingly hand-painted in-house. Motifs are collaged onto the body then lovingly engineered into compositions that work in harmony with the garment’s panelling, ensuring the printed fabric flows flawlessly across seam joints when the garment is constructed. The process is both meticulous and spontaneous, with an outcome that is truly unique and artisanal.

Committed to creating unique and original textiles, the Temperley team designs lace and woven fabrics in-house at our atelier, which are then crafted by our trusted partners at expert mills across the globe. We utilise best quality Italian tulle, soft and sheer, perfectly structured with a flawless drape. Another staple material includes luxurious silk, woven to create a lustrous effect, with a smooth and radiant finish, perfect for eveningwear.
